Cooking Tips & Tricks for Easy Keto Cinnamon-Maple Spiced Nuts
- Nuts will still be soft when they come out of the oven but they will harden when cooled.
- Spiced nuts are delicious when still warm or at room temperature.
- Spiced nuts make a great Christmas gift. Package in cellophane bags with a pretty ribbon or in mason jars.
- Storing spiced nuts: keep in an airtight container for 2-3 weeks.
- Freeze? Leftovers can be frozen for up to 1 month.
- One serving is 30g (1 oz) which is around one small handful.
- Reduce the carbs? Swap out the cashews for macadamias.
- Substitute nuts? Use whichever keto nuts you like such as almonds, pecans, brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, peanuts or pinenuts. Pistachios and cashews can be used in smaller quantities as they are higher in carbs.
- Sugar-free maple syrup alternatives? Sukrin Gold Fiber Syrup (stevia sweetened) or Lakanto Maple Flavored Syrup (sweetened with monk fruit) are both good keto options.
How to make Easy Keto Cinnamon-Maple Candied Nuts
Pre-heat the oven to 320F (160c) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Add the sugar-free maple syrup and the coconut oil (melt in the microwave if solid) to a large bowl and mix well.
Add 1 teaspoon of ginger and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the bowl and combine.
These are the nuts I used. They can be added directly to the bowl with the maple syrup mixture.
Toss the nuts until they are well coated.
Now simply spread the nuts onto the prepared tray in one single layer. You will need a large tray or two smaller trays.
Bake for 8 minutes, then stir and continue to bake for another 6 minutes or until the nuts are golden brown.
They will be soft when first removed from the oven but will harden as they cool.
Allow to cool or serve warm.

I use 2 Tbsp coconut oil, melt in microwave and mix in 1/4 cup Brown Swerve. Add coni on and ginger and mix thoroughly. Add 3-4 C nuts and coat well. The Swerve will melt in the oven and harden on the nuts when cool. Far less sticky than using the maple syrup.
Anna Mazlin
Love this method Jeff. Brown swerve is amazing!!
Sara
We made these but the nuts did not firm up and d9d not look candied. They are sticky. We are going to try baking them longer.

You can use Truvia brown sugar, but you have to melt it in water first. I know, seems to defeat the purpose but it works! Just add a little water before the coconut oil and melt or dissolve the Truvia. Add the coconut oil, microwave for 30 seconds to melt. Then add nuts and or spices.
